About

I am Bo and I am a writer and artist.   I have spent more than half of my life engaged in the visual arts, most notably mixed media.  Due to one of life’s turn of events, I find myself unable to create through visual means, although I am experimenting with basic photography.

In order to continue ‘making mening’ of the world and of my existence in this world, I have turned to writing.  Though I write a large concentration of adult-oriented poetry, I enjoy sepping into the Bo character occasionally.

I have used my name, Bo, as the name of the child in these fictional stories.  Yes, for the most part they are fictional.  I DID grow up in a multi-generational family, I DID have the immediate family I write about, and many of the basic activities in my childhood triggered the story.  That is about as close to real life as it gets.

One of the themes I enjoy is “seeing the world” from the eyes of an pre-adolescent girl. I love the challenge of capturing the voices of young people – both in poetry and story form. I especially love to make these children – nearly adolescents – alive and grappling with life and relationships, with questions and answers, with worries and joys, all within the constraints of a young person’s mind.
